PENDIDIKAN ISLAM BERWAWASAN GENDER MENURUT SACHIKO MURATA

Abstract

The general assembly of the United Nations (UN) on September 25, 2015 in New York, United States, has officially authirized an agenda for sustainable development goals or SDGs as global development. Around 193 heads of state, including Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla, also agreed to the 2030 sustainable development agenda for Indonesia. One of the goals of the SDGs is Gender, which is to provide space for women to develop their talents and potential, all forms of discrimination must be eliminated so that women have the same opportunity as men. To measure the success of development from a gender perspective, the Gender Inequality Index (GII) or Indek Ketimpangan Gender (IKG) is used. Indonesia would not  succeed in carrying out development if men and women do not achieve equality, considering that the Indonesian Indek Ketimpangan Gender (IKG) in 2017 reached 0.453. This will encourage education to be designed based on the principle of equality which will support equality in all fields. Based on this, the authors formulated two main problems in this study; 1) What is gender according to Sachiko Murata? 2) What is the gender implication according to Sachiko Murata for Islamic education?. In accordance with the formulation of the problem that has been stated, the purpose of this study are; 1) To find out gender according to Sachiko Murata. 2) To find out the gender implications according to Sachiko Murata for Islamic education. This study is using qualitative research. The author searches for library information through reading scientific journals, reference books, relevant scientific works and the results of scientific seminars, amd also outlines the literature thoroughly Sachiko Murata's conception of gender to be analyzed and its implications for Islamic education found. After analyzing various literature and reflecting on Sachiko Murata thinking about gender to find its implications for Islamic education, the authors get the following conclusions; 1) Sachiko Murata doesn't only look at gender in humans. Murata saw gender in God and Nature. There is a dualism that relates to both nature, God and man. This dualism is built not based on power relations but with cosmic relations such as yin and yang or jammal and jalal. 2) Sachiko Murata's gender view has implications for solving various paradigmatic problems in Islamic education as follows: First, the issue of the formation of gender identity. Second, the problem in interpreting gender equality. Third, the previous paradigmatic problem stems from its meaning in discussing human philosophy, namely the creation of Adam and Eve.
