PERKEMBANGAN KOGNITIF ANAK MENURUT IMAM AL-GHAZALI DALAM KITAB IHYA ‘ULUMUDDIN
Abstract
Intellect is the source of all knowledge therefore reason is very noble. Because with reason we can achieve happiness in this world and the hereafter. Intellect is also the difference between humans and animals. So that an animal that grows up, has extraordinary courage and has strong energy, but when it sees humans, the animals will feel afraid, because human feelings will be more powerful, because humans have special features in their minds. The function and role of the family has a significant contribution to the development and future of children, so it is highly expected that the role of parents in a nation's society really carries out its role, by actively participating in guarding the moral and intellectual development of children.
This study aims to determine how cognitive development in children. And to find out how the cognitive development of children according to Imam al-Ghazali in the book Ihya 'Ulumuddin.
This study uses a descriptive qualitative method of analysis, namely a method of processing data in depth with data from observations, data collection, data analysis, data categorization, then the data is analyzed based on Children's Cognitive Development according to Imam al-Ghazali in the Book of Ihya 'Ulumuddin.
The research results are as follows.The essence of reason is the source of knowledge and the origin and art of science. Because basically knowledge comes from reason, just as fruit comes from a tree, so sunlight can be seen with the eye. What if reason is not noble while reason is the cause of glory in this world and in the hereafter. As for the levels of reason according to al-Ghazali, there are four levels, the first: reason is a trait that distinguishes humans from animals. The second is defined as an understanding which is able to have an impact on humans to distinguish between right and wrong. Third. Intellect is knowledge gained from experience with the application of various circumstances. Intellect means ma'rifat, at this level ma'rifat is the top position of all levels of reason. The function of reason is that which brings people closer to their Lord Allah SWT by doing good deeds and doing good deeds.
