Pola Strategi Pembelajaran dalam Kitab Durrat Al-Nâshihîn Karya Al-Khaubawy

Abstract

The Book of Durrat al-Nâshihîn by Uthman bin Hasan bin Ahmad al-Syakir Al-Khaubawy is a very popular and controversial book. This book is considered important in the educational discipline because it contains educational materials and methods that may still be relevant to current contemporary Islamic educational practices. Although the book was written hundreds of years ago, the significance of the materials and methods on how the materials are poured or presented is believed to be relevant.


This study aims: (1) To analyze the educational materials in the book Durrat al-Nâshihîn by Al-Khaubawy. (2) To know the method of presenting educational material in the book of Durrat al-Nâshihîn by Al-Khaubawy.


The research method used is content analysis method. This method of text study is a study that focuses on the analysis or interpretation of written materials based on the context. This method of research is appropriate to be used to explore the thoughts of a person contained in a published book or texts.


The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the Book of Durrat al-Nâshihnn contains 75 pieces of discussion material topics, including repeated discussions. The discussion can be grouped into three educational materials: education of faith, religious education, and moral education. The content of education of faith is more directed towards the education of beliefs, especially those related to the shahada, belief to the Prophet, belief in life after death, end of the world with the awesomeness, human deeds, and belief in heaven and hell as a reward for those who do good or bad. The subject of worship education leads more to the education of servant devotion to God through religious practices that aim to always remember Him. These religious education materials include the virtue of fasting and the month of Ramadan, praying, zikr, reading the Qur'an, patience, and other deeds. The material content of the moral education field is more directed to the problem of relationships among people in public life, which includes the virtue of friends, help each other, slander prohibition, drinking, prohibition on actions that can damage the brotherhood, and what should be done and what everyone needs to shun. Secondly, the method of delivering the materials of religious education, worship, and morals in the book Durrat al-Nâshihîn tends to be dominated by two main methods, namely methods of advice and method of story. Methods of advice are used to convey messages that can provide motivation, encouragement, good news, warnings, and threats. Meanwhile, the story method is more focused on conveying examples, lessons, comparisons, strengthening, and verification.
